REACH: 2018 is Closer Than You Think

ECHA is warning small volume – 1 – 100 tonnes – manufacturers and importers to start the 2018 REACH Registration process NOW.  It will take a lot of effort, especially for those US companies that have not paid a lot of attention to REACH yet because they export under 100 metric tonnes to Europe.  ECHA has developed a fairly nice set of steps for you to go through here: http://echa.europa.eu/reach-2018   Click on the box with the clock

US exporters without a legal presence in Europe will first have to establish an Only Representative (which is not included in the above steps).  That will take even more time to do.  ECHA guidance here.
