Illinois and other states are jumping on banning plastic microbeads in cosmetics after the big producers have already committed to substitution (see previous post).  Even the American Chemistry Council is on board.

I’ll say again: be sure to do proper product stewardship reviews on any substitutes.  It’s not obvious that “natural” apricot (or other) seed-based microbeads are any better floating in the waterways.
